Let's impart togetherness in our kids

The idea of bliss in life comes from the fact that we all whether consciously or just naturally are driven by a force called “togetherness” – the prime example of which is that of the nature and the human being, which come together and create the world around us. Without nature, we as humans can’t exist and we shall not be able to find the purpose of life, should it not be for the nature which selflessly provides us the way of living life.

Nature in it’s essence is what drives our life. From something as basic as food to something as important as fresh air that we breathe, without nature – we’re bound to feel helpless.

I remember my grandfather teaching me how nature is our best friend and we shall in return, give something back to the “mother earth”. I must be just 5 years old when he said this but I still remember.

I remember my grandfather used to tell time by just looking at the rays of the sun, he could also tell whether it’ll rain today or not, he was so close to the nature that for him – the animals around the house were a part of his daily routine, he’d take care of the cows and the buffaloes and if for instance, a cow fell sick – it would refuse to eat but when my grandfather would go and feed it, the cow NEVER refused.

Which tells us that the real togetherness does not simply exist between just humans but supersedes between human and animals/humans and nature.

The teachings from nature are so simplistic that we often overlook it but it’s a fact that in our day to day life, we get to experience the real “togetherness” in nature. A bird preparing nest for it’s unborn child, a dog searching food for it’s puppy, two flowers merging and creating a new flower – this in the true sense is the togetherness in nature.

We need to realize as humans that for the nature that gives us so much, we must as well work together with nature and overcome it’s problems. Problems such as pollution, which is destroying the very nature that is keeping us “together” – is it an unjustified demand!

It’s time that we overcame the world of facebook and teach our kids about creating a relationship with the nature and nurturing it for our future generations. After all, nature is what we have borrowed from our future generations.

With the Diwali coming and the air pollution to be at it’s peak  - let’s pledge that we shall save the nature this Diwali and celebrate by giving something back to the nature. Hey, how about planting a tree!

It’s time to impart these values in our kids so that they can instill the same in theirs and create a much more stronger nature and give the apt definition to “real togetherness”.

Airtel 4G : For the professional, for the youngster

For a 50 year old that has spent majority of his life without the inventions like the computer and the mobile, being told about the internet technology on mobile about 3 years back was something that amazed me and shocked me – because 1) when internet came on computer it was in itself a revolution and now 2) the same technology on a 4-5 inch screen was absolutely stunning.

I had to use the technology first to believe that it actually existed and was efficient. About 3 years back when I tried the 2G technology, it sure was good but it lacked in the speed that one would desire on a mobile while travelling and especially on an office tour where being upto date with office mails was easier on laptop, for me at least.

Gradually when the 3G technology came about, it got a little more convenient and I was able to connect myself more with this technology, the emails were easier to use and not having to wait for the pages to load was certainly an add-on benefit and a whole new experience as a user. But still, sometimes, the speed lacked and I thought to myself – can think get any better! For someone like me who uses internet for office purposes, trying to learn while on the go and typing crucial official documents while sometimes in the airplane itself and sending them just after landing – can the internet technology get more faster!

FINALLY, Airtel has come up with an answer – YES. The Airtel 4G network ensures that now you need not to wait for pages to load, mails to be read, videos to be seen (bye bye buffering).

By profession, I’m a motivational trainer and a trainer, it’s my passion to hear speakers from all around the world speak about their life and motivate people. I’ve the habit of watching these videos while I’m in the air, on an office trip – you learn and also the time passes by.

BUT, I usually had to load up these videos on my pen drive and watch them, even when I was in the car on at a hotel.

NOW however, I can easily use Airtel’s 4G technology and watch videos on youtube without any buffering. Not only this, I can even download these videos if I wish and the download speed will be so efficient that I need not wait for the download to finish – say for around 3-4 hours.

You can make a fair assessment of the speed, comparing it to it’s predecessor – that is 3G technology, it was fast so wonder how fast will the 4G technology will be!

Uses like –
1)      Watching videos on the go
2)      Downloading your favorite movies
3)      Reading through different websites on the go
4)      No more awaiting for pictures to be load up
AND AND AND so much more.

The Airtel 4G technology is for both – the professional and the youngsters. A technology that is set to change the way we see, breath and live the internet.

Dabur Honey : your daily dose of happiness

I remember that when I was a small boy, my mother used to give me water in which honey was mixed – I used to ask her “why this”? And she used to reply that it’s very healthy for you. A few years later when I grew up and put on some weight due to sitting job and no proper timing of having lunch/dinner and not being able to exercise, she gave me the same thing but this time, mixed lemon in it. I again asked her “why this” and she said “it’s ideal to lose weight”.

We often talk about the “ghar ka nooshka” and honey mixed in water with a drop of lemon, taken every morning is IDEAL for health and for those, whose ship of getting unfit has already shipped (believe me, we’ve all been there), the continuous frustrating attempts we make at rapid weight loss are nothing but sad and damaging to health.

I know a cousin of mine who stopped eating dinner for 1 month straight and only took 1 chapatti for lunch, in the bid to reduce weight and such drastic and major steps towards losing weight is what is called as “crash diet” – not only does a crash diet damage your health, it affects your daily protein intake and in today’s world that is driven by fitness par excellence, not getting the daily dose of protein can have great repercussions. Crash diet may be suggested to you by a friend or a family member in the bid to reduce weight and you’ll usually be told that a crash diet cannot have any damaging affect on your body but that’s all a false and if you really do go on a crash diet – you can easily experience your body losing it’s daily strength and the efficiency much required to be energetic and at the top of your feet at all times.

Honey has been since the Ancient India been considered as a vital source of fitness and a daily dose of honey can have a great impact on your body – give you the much needed source of fitness and help you reduce weight  - the way it’s meant to be, without losing up on the daily intake of protein.
Dabur Honey has been since I can remember the most trusted brand in India in terms of honey. The low quality honey that you see in the market will do you no good and thereby it’s important to use honey of only a brand as reputed as Dabur, associating with which gives you the feeling of “rest assured, this is healthy for you” – Dabur Honey has always been and continues to be a product trusted by Indians for it’s consistent quality delivery on the promise of the customers – helping them to intake quality honey.

People tell you all sort of things when you gain weight and how going on crash diets help but you should always opt for the means that are healthy and not ones with dire affects. Dabur Honey – your daily dose of fitness.

UC browser - just what a nation driven by it's cricket needed

The power of browsing is realized when you’re on the go and in the need to surf fast and surf efficiently but usually the crash in browsing apps leads to irrigation and further to frustration because the user wants to enjoy a relatively easy experience which a browser with lags doesn’t provide but with UC browser lags are of the past – THIS browser gives you the ultimate joy ride as the user – “surf it all, surf it fast” is apt to describe the UC browser.

Further, for a country that loves it’s cricket – the UC browser ensures that you’re left too away from the game, ensuring that this relatively fast and easy experience involves you being with your true love i.e. “cricket” – wherever you are and whatever you’re doing. Even if you’re on the go, you can still use the UC browser and the separate section of “UC cricket” to relish the experience of following your favorite sport LIVE.

The UC cricket provides user with updated scores of the matches taking place LIVE – the efficiency of this section of the browser has brought about a new dimension to browsing and given the users the ultimate ease to “surf it all, surf it fast”.

Without doubt, in the last few years the world of apps has taken over and we’re bound to have a few of our favorite apps – always carried with us and UC browser does become one such app.
Endorsed by the lion hearted cricketer in Yuvraj Singh – who very rightly is the face of this browser because of his “break all the records and break ‘em fast” way with which he plays his cricket – the sheer determination and class of his batting and the usefulness of his bowling became a sight to relish for the cricket fans through the last so many years and even today; he is without doubt one of the most admirable cricketers playing the sport.

The UC browser has the option of UC cricket on it’s home screen, in blue button – just click on it and you’ll be taken to the UC cricket section, giving you the updated scores from matches taking place all around the world.

Now, the issue of being away from your love for the game while you’re on the go is NO MORE there because after all; in this age of technology where every second counts and where mutli-tasking has become a way of life – such innovative ideas are surely welcomed because they take the user experience to a whole new level. Further, if you just like me always want to be updated with recent cricket scores while surfing the net – this is just the browser for you. The UC browser with UC cricket – just what a nation driven by it’s cricket needed.

Airtel my app : catering needs of every user

In today's life, juggling between many things and keeping a track of basically everything is a no easy task and we all know this. In such a case scenario, what we need is an app - an app that takes care of at least some of these things and helps us keep a track of them. In such a scenario, Airtel has come up with it's app, helping it's users in several ways, some are mentioned below :

1 ) Convenience : The new My Airtel App is the smartest technology to pay your bills, keep a check on these bills and manage them, your dongle, landline/broadband and DTH account - all in one app, now this is what we call convenience.

2) Shake to get offers : the new my airtel app comes with the feature of shake and "bacchao" as I like to call it. Just shake your mobile and the app will provide you interesting recharge coupons, recharge benefits and even free coupons.

3) The 'I want to' feature : how often is it that we're confused with regard to which recharge pack is the most suited to cater our daily needs! With the my airtel app's 'I want to' feature, you can save your frequent recharges and bill payments on the home screen, making it easier to repeat the payments with just one click and not being confused with regard to how much you usually recharge.

The my airtel app has some more very key and useful features, such as :

Not only can you pay your bills through the my airtel app but also your family's. Just add your family's postpaid/prepaid landline/broadband and DTH bills all in the one app i.e. the my airtel app.

PCIDSS certification gives users the satisfaction that the app by airtel is safe and secure for your transactions, which is the primary concern for every user and with the PCIDSS certification, we can "check" the safety quotient of the app.

The app also helps you check your all past transactions that you've done via the app. Payment options available are : credit card, debit card and net banking.

What more is that, you've 24x7 customer support just in case you face any problems in any of your transactions or any other issue related to the app.

The my airtel app also gives you alerts, data usage knowledge, notifications on low balance, due date etc. Also, you can order movies, games and that too without any data charges from the my airtel app.

It is being said that Airtel's revolutionary Airtel Money feature will soon be made available on the app, making it much more convenient for it's users.

All in all, this is a MUST have app, as it says its truly 'my' app - catering the needs of every user.

A one of it's kind league

http://www.eknayileague.com/

Kapil Dev – the cricketer has been seen in the social media as the brand of a #NayiLeague, the structure and the genre of which is unknown and left upon the users like you and I to guess and perhaps reach to the right conclusion.

Kapil Dev has been dropping hints in videos but only the inner Sherlock of yours and mine can unlock the mystery over the #NayiLeague. The videos suggested that if you play dil se, then you’re either bowled or hit wicket, meaning that the game is for the daredevils (and no, not the IPL team).
Considering that it’s a game of the risk takers, I doubt that it has to do anything with cricket. No, I don’t suggest that cricket is not a game of daredevils but if you put the facts together, considering that Kapil Dev will actually be promoting a cricket league is unrealistic – as far as I’m concerned.
It can perhaps be a #NayiLeague is a true definition, a league we’ve never seen before? We’ve the answer to every question now.

The league was officially launched today and it’s a trading league, the battle of the brain and not the heart – this is where your trading talent coming into play, giving you an opportunity to win #Rs1 Crore.

So then, that’s the #NayiLeague, a really innovative concept from Mr.Jimeet of Samco, giving the world of trading a whole new place and a platform. The site of the league is http://www.indiantradingleague.com/ , with the phrase “yeh league dil ki nahin, hai dimaag ki” – very much highlighting the importance of adequate thinking and right investment to achieve big in this trading league.

You can register on the site for the league and be a part of this whole new #NayiLeague, one of it’s kind. The suspense around it was exceptionally maintained, giving no clues away to the users of social media whatsoever.

The inner Sherlock of a few might have been able to crack the code but for me – I wasn’t really close but I do say this – the guessing game sure did make it fun to know which #NayiLeague Kapil Dev was promoting, initially – a cricket league was the idea in everyone’s mind but as the new videos starting coming, there were more and more unique ideas coming forward.

Joining the league isn’t tough, you just have to visit the site and register or you can email them at signup@indiantradingleague.com

Alright then, that’s the #NayiLeague, the hype around which has been amazing. The new concept of leagues in India is definitely something that the users of social media take active participation in and this was no different. The guessing game from the #NayiLeague team did definitely make this a worthwhile event in it’s own and until the launch event, everyone was intrigued to know of this #NayiLeague that Kapil Dev was promoting. KUDOS to the #NayiLeague team for promoting the league in such an exquisite manner.

Asus Zenfone 2 : A class apart

The age of technology is rapidly influencing our lives in various ways - all of which make day-to-day tasks much more easier and efficient. The inception of smart phones was to ensure that one could be in touch with the happenings of the world even on the go and this has ever since revolutionized the way technology works - Asus is one such company that always succeeds in achieving simply the best in technology and just 2 years back when it launched Asus Zenfone, it quickly became the favorite of all the mobile loving people (myself included) and this fan following has resulted in the bringing about of Asus Zenfone 2 - newer and better.

Here I list 5 reasons as to why I want to get my hands on Asus Zenfone 2 :

1) The camera  : for someone like me who likes to take selfies and pictures on the go, a smartphone with a good camera is a basic necessity and I'm very much psyched to see the Asus Zenfone 2 coming with a 13 MP PixelMaster camera, which has the capability of 400% more brighter pictures at night, compared to other smart phones - now this truly is impeccable. The 5 MP camera for selfies is an add-on which makes Asus Zenfone 2 the favorite among the "selfie generation".

2) Asus Boostmaster technology : one thing with smartphones that's really a topic of great discussion across the globe is that of it's battery life. Understandably, a smartphone is bound for heavy usage - be it accessing internet or just playing games/watching movies - it eats up a lot of battery and in quick time plus the charging time makes it no easier. With Asus boostmaster though, the Asus Zenfone 2 will charge upto 60% in less than 39 minutes, that's what you call efficiency.

3) Dual Sim : smartphones without dual sim are just not worth it according to me and hence the dual sim availability in a mobile becomes all the more important. For those of you keen to buy a new smartphone with dual sim - don't look any further, Asus Zenfone 2 is the one.

4) The 64 bit Intel ATOM processor : for those of you who don't like waiting, this processor at 2.3 GHZ is just the answer to your question "does this mobile has speed" - to be precise, this is the Usain Bolt of mobiles, the speed is something you don't need to ask for - Asus always ensures that it's Zen UI gives you the ideal experience.

5) Zen UI : as I mentioned, the Zen UI makes Asus phones simply stand out. Simpler, smarter and more useful - this UI is absolutely a thrill for the users. The Zen UI makes the user interface a lot more stylish and easy to use - which adds to the beauty of Asus Zenfone 2.

Let happiness pursue you and not the other way around.

Happiness is something that cannot be put into a mere few words, it's not merely an expression but a feeling that rejuvenates you to do just about anything and everything - achieve what you felt was tough, seize what you felt couldn't be seized and see out the true potential in yourself.

It's very rightly said that a 'happy sate of mind, is a healthy body' and this is all the more true in today's highly competitive world, where smiling and being happy has become a luxury to cherish.

For me, happiness is measured not in terms of money or financial stability but in the little laughs and the smiles that I get from my family in whichever way I make them happy - it can be a rs5 ice-cream for my son, a 20rs gol gappa for my wife or a dinner at a good restaurant costing rs500 that means the world to my family and the happiness I see on their faces cannot have a price - it's simply priceless.

We often fail to understand the real sense of happiness that we get. Sometimes, we pursue after things that we believe can make us happy but they never do; and we sense that we somewhere failed to gain happiness but happiness is truly in the joy of spending time with your family, 'a happy family, is a happy life'.

Even the smallest of the things that you do for your family brings happiness to you. Think about it; when you hand over your salary to your parents, it's not the amount of the salary that brings a smile to your parent's face but the gesture of yours to hand them your first salary which brings upon a sense of happiness of their face.

Similarly, when you gift your mom a saree or take your family out for a dinner; they do not see the amount you pay but the happiness they get in spending time with you - this truly is the essence of being family.

I for one, find happiness in the smallest of the things. Taking a surprise day off from work and taking my family to a film, followed by lunch and ice-cream is for me the ideal way to make my family experience the joy of "happiness" and moreover, life is all about such moments filled with happiness.

In a nutshell; do not pursue something overboard to gain happiness, just look around and you'll find happiness in the most smallest of the things. Do not judge happiness by money but judge it by the joy that it gives to you or the people around you.

Happiness after all is anything that brings a smile to your face or the faces of your family members or friends - be happy, let happiness pursue you and not the other way around.

Live in the moment : fill each moment with optimism

The joy of fatherhood is such that every moment that you spend with your child is truly bliss and full of energy, memories and moments to cherish for throughout your lifetime.

I got to experience the joy of fatherhood after the birth of my son, the feeling of becoming a father was overjoying, I couldn't believe that life had taken this amazing new turn and I couldn't have been happier. I wanted to follow the examples of my father and become a similar role model to my son.

After becoming a father, I felt a great deal of responsibility on my shoulders, I had to be the perfect example of my son, I had to provide him with all the necessary luxuries of life, proper education, a roof over his head and a future strong enough to sustain in this world, both in terms of financially and knowledgeably.

I remember that when my son hit the age of 5, he got fascinated with the game of cricket. Understandably, my whole family is that of cricket lovers and he saw everyone around him following every match of cricket and he naturally got interested in the game. On the weekends, he would request me to play a cricket match with me and I'd be very happy to. Just like every father, I saw a great talent in my kid i.e. of a good cricket, at the age of 5, he had immense potential and was absolutely marvelous to watch. Each weekend that I spent with him was filled with great memories and gave me optimism that with my son, each moment spent is worth cherishing.

I also realized that as the father, it's my duty to ensure that I never pressurize him to do something that he doesn't want to. In this case, if he wants to play cricket - he should but I must not force him to train in the sport, as he may not necessarily like it. But I did come into terms with the fact that regardless of whichever field my son chose in future, he'll truly be successful and will always follow the path of ethics and principles and never compromise upon it to achieve success, that's the values I instilled in him and that's what optimism is; having hopes for the future.

It was through my son that I too got the optimism of living the life the way it's meant to be. I saw my 5 year old kid seizing the moment and playing the game of cricket with full concentration or when at home; he'll be drawing, his full concentration would be on the out-sketches and to ensure that the colour doesn't cross the outer-lines of the portrait. It helped me realize that how importance it is to focus in the moment and not think too much ahead into the future; concentrate on what's in front of you and that filled me with optimism to seize the day and make the most of it.

Coming over my fear and deciding to #StartANewLife

It's a basic human nature that we're all afraid of something or the other, each one of us has felt as to how "fear" has stopped us several times in life from being able to #StartANewLife.

I've had one such fear in myself which became a great obstacle in my life and didn't allow me to live this life the way I wanted to i.e. the fear of driving. For someone like me, who has to often travel 100-200 KM for office work purposes, taking a bus or metro isn't always the most speedy or the safest of the options but just till 8 years back, I had this fear in me that didn't allow me to drive, I was too afraid to learn driving.

It wasn't until my boss told me one day "imagine yourself 20 years from now, when you'll start looking back at your working days and start thinking - should I have learned driving, would that have perhaps made my life a little more different! Was driving a passion or a desire of mine that I could fulfill but didn't take the necessary steps to fulfill!" and at that time it hit me - it's time to #StartANewLife. Enough of being afraid, it's time to choose the path of courage, one that leads to the success of a goal that I had in life i.e. to learn to drive.

Initially, the idea to #StartANewLife sounded easier than done, I was having great troubles in learning how to drive. Sometimes I'd forgot to press accelerator and my legs would go instead on pushing the breaks and sometimes; I'd forget to change the gears - the start to a new life, wasn't the most ideal one but things change "if you're willing to change".

It was my nephew who grew in front of my eyes who taught me how to drive and made me learn all the easy ways to remembering, for instance "ABC" i.e. accelerator, break and clutch.

The point of the above story is to highlight as to how certain choices in life help us to shape the way we live life and inspite us to #StartANewLife. It's about coming out from the old to the new and finding a new perception towards living life, not just the way it should be lived but the way YOU want to live it, by seizing the moment and standing upon your true potentials.

In the above story, I had the choice of either living my life without seizing the moment and learning how to drive or seeking the advice of my boss and overcoming my fear and willing to #StartANewLife, a  life where I learned how to overcome a great fear and not just that; but also learn how we can change the way we live the life, only if we're ready to "take the necessary steps".

So then, that's my story of when I decided to #StartANewLife.

Pampers dry pants : Happy Toddler, Happy Parents

For every parent, the first priority of theirs is to always ensure that their little kid (regardless of how old he/she gets – for a parent, their child is always a kid) is always in comfort.

More so for parents of little toddlers, the experience is one that’s unmatched and full of learning’s but it comes with difficulties too. How to ensure that the little toddler has a peaceful night sleep after having a very tiresome day! How to ensure that the little toddler doesn’t wet the bed and has a comfort sleep in a dry bed! Well, the answer to all that is pampers.

To start off, my son when he was 5 months old – loved it whenever I hid behind a wall and surprised him everything by making a scary face and the smile on his sweet little face was priceless but I also remember when he used to cry at nights after wetting the bed and that as a father, was very trouble to see for me and that’s when we started using pampers.
Pampers is not just about ensuring that your baby is dry but also ensuring that the little toddler has a good night’s sleep which is so essential early in a new born baby’s life, a proper night’s sleep is an absolutely necessity.

Moreover, it’s only after a good night’s sleep that the little toddler wakes up happy and fresh the next day; and is ready to laugh and enjoy. I remember that since we started using pampers; my son used to wake up in the mornings with a smiling face. Earlier however after having a wet night and crying, he’d naturally be quiet and not in a jolly mood the next morning.

It’s very rightly said that a “dry baby is a happy baby” – after all, which parent wouldn’t want their little toddler to be full of energy and happiness. I still remember the memories from my son’s toddler years, when he’d grasp my finger, run out the terrace, play cricket (at least try to), drive his toy car, stare at the tv whenever his favorite song came on and in fact, be a little amazed with the world of technology and him being impressed was very much visible from his happy face.
The new pampers dry pants ensures for the dryness of the baby on the inside. It’s the magical gel lock of pampers dry pants which locks the moisture so that the baby’s skin remains dry and healthy for upto 12 hours.

It’s the trust on pampers that’s been with us for years and has definitely given every parent joyous moments with their little toddler. It’s very much fitting to say that a “dry baby is a happy baby” and with pampers, a happy toddle, is a happy parent.

Optimism : even the most difficult challenge, becomes easy

I've always been someone whose been optimistic towards life but there are moments where your spirits take a toll because of the hardships of life, I felt one such moment when I was going through a tough phase in my job and my son was about to be born.

The pressure of growing up a kid, dedicating a good portion of time and office-  juggling between the two and of course; providing the family with a lifestyle that they relish is the dream of every bread-earner and they were my priorities too.

I remember talking to my parents about this and asking them whether it's going to be a very big challenge and they just used to smile at me and say "it's gonna be fine". My dad told me that every father goes through these concerns but you just have to be optimistic because the new born baby guides you to new ladders of happiness and you'll realize it yourself, that the young toddler will bring about a smile on your face, even when you come home from the office after having the most tiresome of the days.

At that time it all sounded confusing but it wasn't till my son was born that I actually felt all this. In the initial few months of my son's birth, I remember that everyday before I took off for the office, I'd go to my room and watch him sleep very closely, sometimes my son would open his eyes and look at me "that sure was the best feeling in the world".

At office whenever I felt that a challenge was thrown at me or just that the working was becoming very tiresome and difficult, I'd think of my son and for some reason; I'd always feel so optimistic about myself, as if I could cross any obstacle that came in my way.

I remember one day, when my son was 1 and a half years old. I came back from the office, having worked for 14 hours. I was very tired and just felt like sleeping. I was naturally so tired that I couldn't even bear to talk to someone but as I rang the bell at home and my son came at the door on his small toy scooter and shouted "papa papa", I just couldn't help but smile and laugh which filled me with tremendous amount of energy and it was at this moment that I had the realization that it's my son that's going to fill me with optimism and hope for the future whenever I feel down, it'll be my son who I can talk to as a friend - which we are, as now he's 17 and today, it's indeed my son that fills my life with optimism and backs me to overcome any and every challenge.

I'm definite that every parent can connect with this blog post because we've all experienced this. If optimism is about a belief of setting out to achieve even the most impossible task; then we've all had our children inspiring us to set about trying to accomplish that task, which in the way; fill our life with great hopes for the future. :)

Being self-reliant : basic principle of life

I've learned from my father that life must be lived with this principle - "do not expect anything from others, always try to stand on their expectations". This very principle of life apprehends as to how my father has instilled in me the principle of always standing on the expectations of others, always thinking of others betterment first before mine (not being selfish) and always ensuring that I stand on the expectations that my father has from me.

My father was a civil engineer, someone who put in really extreme hours of hard work to provide food on our table. Be it summers, raining or chilly winters, I always saw my father being dedicated to his work and never making any excuse to take a day off. Even when he had the option of supervising the construction from home, he always preferred to go on the sight and work with the builders there.

Another very important thing that my father taught me was to respect people who worked for us - drivers, servants, maids, security guards. I remember when I was 6 years old, I called our driver by his name and my father instantly told me "Munnu, bad manners", call him bhaiya and give him respect. At such young age, he instilled such principles and values in me that I standby even today and have tried to instill the same values in my son.

Having 4 sons, I'm definite that my father often had financial troubles and to my shock; even in the most dire of the times, he never told us about his problems and always provided for our luxuries. Even though we as brothers understood the kind of financial background we had but sometimes we did ask for money and NEVER did I hear my father say "NO".

My father has taught me to be self dependent "Apne Dum Pe Jeeyo", one of the basic concept of life. It's because of being self dependent that today, I'm able to lead a life of dignity and have a life in which I can walk with my head held high and not only me, I hope that standing by the principles and ethics my father instilled in me, I've made him proud too.

Apne ko apne dum pe jeena sikhao - these words stand very true to my father, who has always taught me and my brothers to be self-dependent and it's because of the values he instilled in me that I'm to lead a life of principles in today's competitive world, where people are often tempted to compromise on principles to climb the ladder of success.

Therefore I say, it's because of my father's mantra of "apne dum pe jeeyo" that I've become self-reliant and these are the very values that must be instilled in future generations.

Quikr - revolutionizing the way buying and selling is done.

In the last few years, the whole nature of buying and selling has been shaped and changed for better. The primary reason for which is; Quikr. I was introduced to Quikr by a friend who is a very frequent user of the site and is now in fact, very frequent user of the app.

As I mentioned some posts back, Quikr gave my family the ideal platform to sell our old stuff and buy new ones - while we were shifting to a whole new place, this wouldn't have been possible had it not been for the relative ease of using Quikr.

Today, I share the story of how I sold my old Maruti Suzuki 800 through Quikr and got a perfect price for it, which I spent on buying my new car, Hyundai Santro.

2 years back, me and my family had planned to go to the movies but little did we know that on this very day, our Maruti Suzuki 800 will give us troubles. My family waited for 45 minutes, in which I tried to rectify as to why the car wasn't starting but no luck.

Next day I took it to the dealer who told me that I'd have to spend Rs-25,000 for it's repair and only then, will the car be able to work. It was at this time that I talked with my wife and we decided that let's repair the car and sell it.

I repaired the car, it was now in perfect condition and put up an ad on Quikr.

To all the calls that I received, I very frankly told the condition of the car and people were still very much interested as I had spent Rs-25,000 in it's repair. After a few days I got the perfect buyer for it and sold it for a reasonable amount.

We waited about a year and a half to buy a new car though, we were going through market prices of the cars, determining what to do - should we buy a second hand car? And in this January, we decided that it's time we head over to Quikr, the very place where we sold our second hand car.

I looked through the ads for second hand cars on Quikr NXT and found a Hyundai Santro, a car that's manufactured no more but it's a car that my brother has and I've always loved. I contacted the seller through the app and started a chat. Through the chat I came to know that he is selling the car at a very genuine price, considering the car was 8 years old and in very good working conditions. I asked him to send me a few photos of the car via the app, which he did. The photos consolidated the fact that the car was in fact in very good condition.

I bought the car and here we're today - a Santro that works perfectly and bought in a amount that truly doesn't create a "hole" in the pocket.

Moreover, the relatively ease experience of using the Quikr NXT app made the experience all the more memorable.

Hence I say, Quikr - revolutionizing the way buying and selling is done. :)

Befikar umar bhar : let your dreams and goals fly high

Being "befikar" or fearless is not everyone's cup of tea, we're all afraid of doing one thing or the other and this fear is driven by various reasons, the most common one being that we feel that something's are just "too hard" to accomplish or in other words, such goals are unrealistic.

But having said that, what if we all had THAT confidence of being "befikar" and thinking about 5 goals of our life, that we'd so desperately want to achieve? Below are 5 of my "bucket list" wishes that I'd want to accomplish.

1) Learn to swim : now, not everyone may have trouble enjoying the power of water but for some like me, I'm a true phobic of swimming and have always been afraid to take a deep in the depth of a swimming pool. If I had to overcome this fear, then I'd truly be checking one of my so aspired wishes in my "bucket list".

2) Travel to New Zealand : ever since I met my friend who came from New Zealand after working there for 10 years, I couldn't help but imagine a life for myself there - wouldn't it be fun to live in New Zealand's peaceful environment! I've always been fascinated by their culture and cuisine and it surely is a place that I'd want to visit someday and check-off my bucket list.

3) Crack KFC's Chicken recipe : for all of you out there who admire non veg cuisine, one of the best kept secrets of one of the most loved dish of the world is the secret of KFC's crunchy yummy chicken, which I truly relish. If I were to check-off one thing from my bucket list, it'll be a successful attempt of making a KFC crunchy chicken, the very dish that I've tried several tries to make but haven't come even close to it's original taste.

4) Learn to skate : as a child, I was very fascinated seeing kids learning to skate and doing all those classy stunts but I was always too afraid to try it for myself. Now that I've grown up and look back upon those days, I wonder - would I've made a good skater? Should I have possibly tried? It sure is something that I'd want to learn and check-off my bucket list.

5) Create a sand-castle : firstly, I'd want to visit a country where the beaches are absolutely clean and top-notch, only then can I bring out the kid in me and make a sand castle - the beautiful castles made purely out of sand, ain't they a nature's beauty! Travelling to a new place and making a sand castle at a beach, now this truly is a thing to check-off my "bucket list".

So then, that's my pick of 5 things in my bucket list that I'd want to do, to be "befikar umar bhar", having the satisfaction that I achieved 5 aspirations, in fact goals of my life.

Pen down your own 5 goals in life that you'd want to check-off your bucket list and let a new journey of being "befikar umar bhar" begin.

Quikr NXT : Redefining the platform of buying and selling

As a part of the generation that takes pride in technology and the ever-so-popular apps that hit the market almost every day, I’m someone who was not a huge fond of apps until a few days back.

I’ve been a frequent user of http://www.quikr.com/ and have always found the platform very fascinating as it’s the only site that provides you with the flexibility of connecting with both the buyers and the sellers. It’s not only a site that provides you a platform to buy and sell stuff but a site that provides you a secure platform to make sure that the party you deal with can be trusted and with Quikr as the median, you know you’re on the right site.

Just couple of days back, I saw Quikr’s new ad on tv regarding their new app “Quikr NXT”, I was fascinated and having very little knowledge about apps, I asked my son to help me with it.
My son like every other kid of today downloaded the app from google store in seconds and below is the 3 reasons as to how the Quikr NXT app is recommended over a phone call and how it’s making Quikr even more efficient and easy to use.

Chat over call, here’s why : for frequent users of Quikr, we all know how talking to the other party can at times take time as the other party might be busy sometimes and sometimes you could be busy, hence finding the perfect time to talk in today’s busy world is a troublesome task but with the Quikr NXT app and the chat facility, Quikr has redefined “communicating through app”.

The chat function is one that is easy to use and helps you ask and answer questions from the other party at your own leisure time. Not only this, there’s another option and that is;

Saving chat history : while on a telephone, it’s hard to keep a record of what you talked with the other party unless you write it down on a paper but with numerous replies to your query, that can be a troublesome task too and therefore, the option of saving chat history on the Quikr NXT app is definitely something that the users of the app will find useful, just like how I did.

Number privacy: I’m not the most frequent users of app but there’s one thing I always tell my son and that is to maintain privacy over these apps, only share the information required and maintain privacy. With the Quikr NXT app, the option of number privacy i.e. the other party doesn’t know your number and you’ve the satisfaction of knowing that your privacy is maintained is the feature I liked the most about the app.

For someone like me who isn’t a frequent user of apps, the option of privacy and having sensitive information secured over an app is just the reason why I’ve started to realize the relative ease of using apps and for that, I’m truly thankful to Quikr.

Hence I say, Quikr NXT is truly made for everyone. Even if you’re like me and not the most frequent user of apps, the ease of using Quikr NXT app is just what you’ve been looking for and for every frequent Quikr user, the platform of Quikr for buyers and sellers just became a lot more Quikr.

Asus all-in-one PC : Truly all-in-one

Our life has become so rapid these days that everyone wants to be one step ahead of the time. Be it from the morning to the evening, doing work efficiently is the priority of everyone.

In such a age, technology I believe is man's best friend. It's not only redefining the way we live but making our day to day tasks a lot more easier.

I'm a technology freak and love to buy the new gadgets in the market, the ones I feel are simply best amongst the best.

One such innovation is the new Asus all-in-one PC. Now when I say PC, doesn't the image of a bulky screen with a big CPU occupying a great deal of space in the house, come to your mind! Well my friends this is about to change.

No more do you require to give a bulk of the space of your house to a PC, all thanks to the new Asus all-in-one PC. The 19.5 HD display ensures that you enjoy all the fun of a normal PC but the stylish and sleek design ensures that your PC required very minimal space.

Also to note here; say goodbye to the bulky CPU's which took so much of space, this PC is truly for the generation next and comes with specification beyond belief.

The Asus all-in-one PC comes with 2 GB ram, 2.41 ghz of CPU speed that can go upto 2.66 with turbo boost (jeez, that's some speed), 500GB hard drive, Intel HD graphics and the latest Windows 8.1 64 bit, what more can a tech freak like me want!

Coming to the price now; it is often the case that new gadgets hitting the market are overpriced and hence customers like me who look for "budget buys" don't get to buy their favorite gadget but that's NEVER the case with Asus.

Asus always ensures genuine pricing for it's products and it again delivers on it's promise as Asus all-in-one PC comes at the price of 25,999.

Why I want it: For me, the ease of working on a PC is something else. The big screen and the keyboard makes it a lot easier for me to do intense work at rapid pace. I just find it so much more easier and with a CPU speed of 2.66 (clocked), working at rapid pace on this PC is something that is worth experiencing.

Hence, Asus all-in-one PC becomes one of the gadgets I surely look to buy. The specification, the use and the pricing - it all makes it a user-friendly buy and a MUST BUY.

Do buy it from here: ASUS All In One PC ET2040 and for those of you who prefer tablets, do check out another gem from Asus; ASUS EeeBook X205TA

Proposing on Valentine's Day : Execution is the key

"We fall in love once, we propose once" - do it right the first time, who knows if you get a second chance ever again with your "special someone", right!

Valentine's day is all about seizing the day and coping with your fear and saying what you've to say to your love. If I were to propose this valentine's day, I'd do it the right way. With perfect situation, a twist of surprise and with feeling of love all around to ensure that my crush has no option but to say YES *grins*.

To start off, I wont choose a public place, the pressure of proposing is in itself enough and having to do so in public will make my legs shake and it can only get worse from there.

I'd instead do it in my Maruti Zen, that's been with my family for over 15 years now and driven by mostly all the couples in my family. A car filled with "love" you may say.

I'd invite my crush for a drive in the car and take her to a very peaceful and calm place. After which, I'd play one of her favorite songs, maybe a song from "1942 love story" umm.. "Ek Ladki Ko Dekha" perhaps...

After which I'll start to talk to her about why she's the single most special woman in this and how I love to make her smile, love to talk to her, see her enjoying talking to me, spend each second of every day with her.

And then for the most important part, proposing..

I'd keep 4 eclairs toffees in the car and she'd think that they're her favorite chocolate, whereas when she will actually open the wrapper she would see that these 4 wrappers each have a paper inside them and when combined, these 4 papers will read "Will you marry me"...

How about that for a proposal? Awesome right!

The execution is the key but after all, it's your crush you're proposing to.

After such a proposal, I'd think it will be pretty hard to say no and of course, with the music playing in the car - the whole car will be filled with the feeling of romance. In such an environment, I can definitely only imagine my crush saying "YES".

That's how I plan to propose and get my crush to say yes.. A proposal she wouldn't be able to refuse.

Execution is the key here.. Proposing is no funny business and those who've been there know it, right! But, with the day being valentine's day, a perfect proposing idea in mind and the BIG PICTURE of knowing that if your crush says YES - life is about to change..

This valentine's day, what's your idea of the perfect proposal?

Why am I even asking, you're obviously gonna copy mine. :p

Dabur Chawanprash : An ideal example of a 'trusted' brand

I've always believed in the formula that the energy of a house lies with it's "children" - the kids playing in the house are a sort of energy that lift the house and creative a positive environment around. I mean think of it yourself, every house has seen the little steps of a toddler - walking for the first time, smiling the first time, holding your hand for the first time. These are the moments that make life worthwhile, the bliss of our kids is the bliss of ours.

It is therefore very troubling when your little toddler falls sick and isn't well. Being a father myself, I remember how bad I felt whenever my son felt sick and caught the "cold fever". For 3 years straight during winters, he used to get the viral fever and this took a huge toll on his body and for a growing body, falling sick isn't what should happen. In fact for every kid below 5 years old, being healthy and fit is important.

I remember I was sitting with my mom one day and I happened to discuss with her about my son and how I wish there was a way to ensure that he didn't catch the viral fever during winters. I had tried homeopathy but it didn't work and then my mother said to me "son, do you know you had the same problem at his age. you used to fall sick every winter"?

I of course didn't remember much of the time when I was below 5 years old and I just nodded. Then I asked, "so mom, what did you do"? My mom told me "what's one habit of your father and mine that we've continued for years before going to sleep"? I replied "I don't recall, what"! And my mother said "we both have 1 spoon of Dabur Chawanprash daily".. And then it struck me and I was reminded of my childhood when my mother gave me a spoon of Dabur Chawanprash daily.

I started giving it to my son too and again started having it myself and the change was to be seen, in fact my son not only was no more catching viral fever during winter - what was also happening was that the immunity power of his body was massively improving which was ensuring that he didn't fall ill.

It's 13 years later and we still have the habit of having 1 spoon of Dabur Chawanprash daily. In fact just a few days back a colleague in my office was telling me about his son and how his son too falls sick during winter. I just recommended him what my mother recommended me "one spoon of Dabur Chawanprash daily" and not only for your children but for yourself too because after all, in today's competitive world, falling sick is not an option.

Dabur Chawanprash has been with families for years now and it has built a terrific reputation for itself. It is a fact that it helps young children as well as adults to have a stronger immune system and a much stronger body that is free from any kind of illness or disease.

One spoon of Dabur Chawanprash daily is what I recommend to all my friends and readers. After all, health of our children and health of own self is the priority of one and all.

Thank you Dabur Chawanprash for being the ideal example of how a brand should help it's customers the way it's meant to and for generations like you have. :)

Quikr - enriching our lives with the easiness of buying/selling

In 1995, I was newly married and I got a job in Bangalore. My wife and I shifted to the city of Bangalore which was still very much developing and at that time, wasn’t referred to as the “IT Capital” of India. The city was still very much though admired for it’s life style, it’s people and it’s food.
A new place and a new married life meant that a whole new start to life was shaping up. My wife and I had many dreams and we had many aspirations. Shifting to our new house, we bought everything from furniture to accessories to decorate our new house and all this seemed amazing at first but later we realized how much space we had occupied in the house and how it would have been a better option had we kept some space free in the house.

For the next many years, in fact till an year back some of the stuff we bought in 1995 was still with us and was still occupying a great deal of space in the house, along with which there was stuff of course that we had bought in the last 20 years – some of which we used and some, not so much.

One day my wife and I were watching tv and the quikr ad came on.  My wife looked at me and pointed towards the array of stuff we had lying around the house which we didn’t even use any more.
She said “what if we had to relocate to Bangalore just how we had to 20 years ago”? Would you want to shift to the place where we started our life with the very stuff that we bought there 20 years ago and don’t even use any more!

I knew that she had a point and realized the fact that it’s better to free up some space. If we did had to relocate to Bangalore, I couldn’t see us living in a house with so much of “extra” stuff which wasn’t coming in our use but I realized that quikr could connect me with people who will in fact find our stuff useful to use.

I posted the ad of the products that we no longer required and got array of responses to our ads. We set prices as per the quality of the product and we were amazed to see the quick responses from the people. Both I and my wife were extremely pleased that we were getting rid of the stuff that we longer required and were selling them at reasonable prices.
What next, you ask! Well, after selling the additional stuff lying around our house, my wife turned to me and said “right, it’s time for shopping with the money that we’ve earned”.
Well, that’s my story.

At least, if I do relocate to Bangalore – the very city where I started my married life, I won’t need to carry on the extra stuff with me and can live in a much more spacious apartment – just like how we’re living in Delhi.

The story of quikr is this – it helps you sell/ buy stuff and helps you connect with just the right people willing to buy/sell.

Quikr truly enriches our life and makes us free of any “fikar” and helps us Bech Quikr.
